Irina Lakicevic’s Scandi Rock Style

Norwegian style blogger Irina Lakicevic’s style is cool, calm and collected. The full time dentist and founder of the art and fashion platform, MINT Jour spilled her style secrets.

Irina Lakicevic

”Bomber jacket from Reformation. Top and jeans from Totême, shoes from Celine and scarf from Saint Laurent.”

STYLE “I never feel out of character since my style is inconsistent. I can imagine it has something to do with a need to feel comfortable at any given moment; choosing what I wear is a very organic process for me. I feel most comfortable in a mix between relaxed and edgy (pieces). I have been influenced by rock and metal since my early years. You can always see that element in my style, tweaked in a Scandinavian way off course.”

FAVORITE DESIGNER  “I have many: Céline, Loewe, J.W. Anderson, Off White, Alexander McQueen and Proenza Schouler. I also adore Simone Rocha & Nicolas Ghesquière for Louis Vuitton, that is certainly an interesting affair.”

EVERYDAY STYLE  “A black crewneck sweater, vintage jeans and interesting footwear. Lately I have had a scarf obsession.”

PARTY STYLE “Black jeans, black t-shirt with sneakers or heels depending on the occasion.”

JEANS “Black high-waisted jeans by Saint Laurent and I haven’t taken off my Totême jeans lately.”

BAG “J.W. Anderson for Loewe has the most interesting designs out there right now. Their bags go with nearly everything, everywhere.”

SIGNATURE JEWELLERY  “I always wear my mother’s vintage Rolex ring, which is my engagement ring, a Tom Wood ring depicting an eagle and bracelets by Georg Jensen & Céline.”

SHOES “Anything Céline. Is that even an answer?”

SUITCASE “Old and scrappy, nobody would ever think that it contains luxury items of any sort. Good security!”

OUTRAGEOUS GARMENT “Since my style is very pulled together it’s hard to say. But I do have a Hiller Bartley fringed blazer, it’s quite outrageous for my style.”

INSPIRATION “I love observing strong women who are secure in their roles and with themselves. This translates into the way they dress. I admire women who knows what suits them and even when they push boundaries are never out of character.”

STYLING ADVICE “Relax, breath, and ask, do you feel comfortable in what you’re wearing? Then you are good to go!”

CAN’T GET ENOUGH “Black crewneck sweaters, good jeans and Céline shoes.”

MOST USED “My Céline Knot Brick Bag in orange.”

MISSING IN THE CLOSET “A black crewneck.”

DREAM CLOSET TO RAID “I would love to take a peek at Alexandra Carl’s closet, or Vanessa Traina’s.”

SKINCARE “It is so important that products I use don’t contain perfumes. Filorga and Embryolisse have great alternatives for that.”

BEST BEAUTY BUY  “Filorga Resurfacing Night Cream.”

SCENT “Maison Louis Marie Antidris-Cassis.”

BEAUTY ADVICE  “Drop the foundation. Please!”

READY IN 5 MINUTES “I do my eyebrows, brush my hair and I’m done.”

MUSIC AND BOOKS “I really love, FKA Twigs. I like the idea of a strong uncompromising woman, as much as I love her music. I’m obsessed with John E. Woods’ translation of Mann’s, Doctor Faust, and am rereading it for the second time. And let’s not forget Nick Cave’s books!”

NIGHT OUT  ”Anywhere that plays alternative music, especially psych rock.”

FAVORITE CITY “Paris has such a vibrant scene.”

BEST STORE IN THE WORLD “Colette in Paris beats them all.”
