”Here you’ll find the best drinks in the city, my favorite’s called Vodka Zen. Since Rita’s located in Navigli, the canal district, it’s very nice going for a walk along the water afterwards.”

Pravda ”A Russian vodka bar which can be found in New York as well. I love the red walls and the Russian text hanging behind bar.”

Armani Hotel
”Luxurious, stylish, modern and fantastically designed. It represents everything that Armani stands for. Visit the top floor for some brunch or an aperitif at the Bamboo Bar, where the view from the large windows is just phenomenal.”

Langosteria 10 Bistro & Bottega
”Retro spot resembling a French bistro. I love having some greens and dip at the bar while enjoying a glass of Ruinart. For dinner I’d go for pasta with fresh crab, or shrimp tempura with saffron mayonnaise. Every dish here is amazing, but these two are outstanding.”

Giacomo Bistrot ”The atmosphere is very Parisian, as if stepping into the painting ’Folies Bergere’ by Edouard Manet. Soft light, huge mirrors, dark wood, marble, velvet, and a lot of brocade. Start by ordering a Vivaldi Cocktail with tangerine and champagne, and make sure to leave some room for dessert – it’s always marvelous.”

”I love meeting friends here in the afternoon for a cup of coffee and a piece of cake, or the typical Italian crostata. This is where you’ll find Italy’s best cappucino.

Caffè Letterario
” If you’re in central Milan och want to find a calmer spot to eat brunch, away from tourists, Caffè Letterario in Palazzo Reale’s backyard is the perfect place to stop by. It’s lovely sitting outside if the weather’s nice, and indoors you can have a look in all of the art books on the shelves. If there’s time, make sure to visit Palazzo Reale afterwards for one of their many great shows on contemporary art.”

Pave ”A French and American bistro hybrid, with very tasty food. Make sure to try their cakes, which are simply outstanding. This café will make you feel at home straight away. Great music, warm atmosphere and lovely people. Truly a gem!”

”The greatest club! Artists such as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Prince, Grace Jones, and Madonna have hung out on these sofas. This popular spot can be difficult to get access to, but it’s definitely worth a try. Visit on ’House of Bordello’ Saturdays, or listen to dj Nicola Guiducci play sophisticated retro music during my favorite night, ’Match a Paris’ Sundays.”

Hotel Principe di Savoia ”One of the most beautiful hotels in Milan and the place to be during the nights of fashion week. After a long working day, followed by drinks, it’s great coming here to dance until the early hours of the morning.”

”For a proper shopping experience, this is the place to visit. Maison Martin Margiela, Ann Demeulemeester, Haider Ackermann and Alexander Wang are just a few of their selected brands. The store, a former mechanical workshop, is pretty dark, narrow, and filled with elegant, geometrical shapes that shine of metal and black.”

Cavalli e Nastri
”The best vintage shopping there is. The store is full of treasures – from dresses and accessories to fine jewelry, purses and shoes you could only dream of. The owner selects the goods – and she knows what she’s doing.”

The Studio by Davide Diodovich
”The best hair salon in Milan. Davide is a true master. The salon looks like a fancy apartement, decorated in 30’s style with marble, brass, wooden surfaces, flowers, books and candles. A magical salon.”

Bahama Mama: Vintage shopping and manicure ”Have a manicure or pedicure while listening to great music, watching a movie, enjoying a tasty fruit juice or shopping for some cool vintage garments from Prada, YSL or Chanel.”

”Luxurious department store in central Milan, with a carefully selected assortment based on quality. The building was previously used as a cinema and later redrawn by Jean Nouvel. I love visiting the shoe and accessory section to look at brands such as Maison Martin Margiela, Marni, Valentino, Proenza Schouler and many more.”

Atelier VM.
”Here you’ll find jewelry that tell a story or remind you of a trip, jewelry made from intellectual concepts or that were simply sprung from intimate thoughts. It’s a store to visit even just for watching, where you can be enchanted by all of the creations of linear, simple and beautiful shapes.”

”The department store previously mentioned also runs a great food section. The tins have been placed on the shelf as if they were Manolo Blahniks. A lot of great Italian products can be found here – all of top quality, naturally.”

”A very special shop selling unique furniture from the 50’s and 60’s. Lamps, bureaus, and lot of tables. I simply love the atmosphere in there, created by combining materials like marble, wood and mother-of-pearl with black walls and dimmed lights.”

Nilufar Nilufar ”Located in Via della Spiga, this prestigious furniture store is yet another design paradise. I always stop and stare through their windows, in awe of their speciell mix of eras and cultures. Ethnic carpets and elegant chairs, combined with lighting by some of the most famous designers in the world, creates a lovely mix – signed by the owner, Nina Yasar.”

Museo del 900
”Admire Italian art from all of the 20th century at one of the best museums in Milan, located in the beautiful Palazzo dell’Arengario in the Duomo square. At the top of the building you’ll find an amazing view of the large Duomo church, the square and ’Galleria Vittorio Emanuele’.”

Fondazione Prada ”A museum known for exhibiting the best contemporary artists, such as Louise Bourgeois, Wlater de Maria and Thomas Demand, and for arranging events related to film and architecture.”

Brera area and Parco Sempione
”Parco Sempione is the perfect weekend spot for relaxing on the grass, reading books. It’s located close to Brera, a cosy area perfect for romantic strolls. For inspiration, I usually stop by the book store Milano Libri where the first floor is dedicated to fashion, design, textile, photography and art. I love spending an afternoon here and then walking back home through Brera, stopping for coffee somewhere along the way.”

BONUS TIP! ”Sneak into old Italian buildings, and be happily surprised by the amount of beauty to be found ’behind closed doors’. Magnificent courtyards, fabulous gardens and marvelously decorated houses that will bring you back in time. Very romantic. I really love Via Lincoln, a small street in my neighbourhood that allows you to escape reality for a little while. It’s surround by colorful houses on both sides, with beautiful gardens both in the front and in the back. Living there would be like a dream, being able to forget the busy city life as soon as you close the door.”
